Gas Pressure/Oil Pressure
The gas will flow too quickly if the gas pressure is too high. When gas moves too quickly, the risk of fire dramatically rises. Consider this: If too much gas enters a furnace, for example, the furnace will produce more heat than it is able to withstand. The blower and exhaust of your furnace won't be able to handle the extra heat, and it will soon overheat. Other appliances operate in the same way! They are made to function with a set volume of gas; if the pressure is too high, they will receive too much gas and won't be able to perform as intended. There is a greater chance of trouble as things heat up and malfunction.
